Frequently Asked Questions
Some helpful questions you can ask your Insurance:
- What is the maximum allowable rate my insurance will pay for an out-of-network provider for this code? If you’re doing individual therapy, ask about reimbursement for procedural code 90837 with the modifier 95 for telehealth. For couples therapy, ask about code 90847 with the modifier 95 for telehealth.
- Is there a deductible that has to be met before you reimburse for out-of-network therapy sessions? If so, what is it and how close am I to meeting that?
- Is there a limit to how many sessions you will reimburse for?
Another reason we do not take insurance is to avoid giving you a mental health diagnosis which stays on your health record, especially in case of our clinical specialties involving relationships and life transitions. If you, however, present to us with a prior mental diagnosis, please know that we will absolutely honor it and work with you on those issues.
In general, you will find that the cost of therapy varies depending on which professional in our practice you work with and the length of your session(s). But our services are generally priced at $150 for a 45-minute session and $180 for a 60-minute session when working with a Ph.D.
We are very transparent and candid in openly discussing this and checking in with you to ensure progress and consistency of such progress in attaining your goals.
A standard session is about 45 minutes. However, we do offer extended sessions (upon request) at extra charge, especially so in cases where you cannot commit to a weekly schedule.
We do our best in accommodating pressing situations. And in that, we offer rescheduling 24 hours before your appointment time. All cancellations, however, can only be done 48 hours before your appointment time.
Yes. Dr. Aleem's last session is at 8 pm. For day and hours, please refer to our business hours.
Yes. That is one of the many benefits of online therapy.
We are proud to offer HIPAA-compliant teletherapy services. Online therapy helps us provide deep and effective services. It helps with a varied section of clients for whom distance can be an issue, to be home-bound is a precondition, have a busy schedule, have children or seniors to care for and many other benefits.
Yes! Online Therapy is just as effective as meeting in person. All the nuances of facial expressions and nonverbal communication can be seen through video just as they can in person.
That is another very important question. Much of this can safely managed by looking at the experience, seniority and diversity of practice of the therapist. Outside of that, a decent chemistry between the client and therapist can only be assessed after a few sessions. We are very open in discussing the same and making possible adjustments to the sessions.
Life presents us all with specific set of challenges. Seeking help is a sign of courage, not weakness. By taking responsibility and accepting such challenges, with self-awareness and other tools, is only wisdom than to do it yourself. Therapy provides long term benefits and support by giving you a variety of tools to avoid triggers, patterns that are self-damaging and tendencies to relapse.
There are many benefits of therapy. But there are more benefits of therapy if taken on time. Among other benefits, below are some of the areas that you can expect to benefit from -
- Better understand yourself, your goals and your values;
- Learning tools to cope with anxiety, stress;
- Keeping you relationships in good balance, at all times;
- Uncovering new ways to solving problems;
- Manage, instead of reacting to, emotions of anger, grief, and depression.
It is not unusual for one partner to not feel the need for therapy. In such cases, what is needed is respect and acknowledgement of their wishes and judgement. It may take two to tango but it takes only one to initiate the change. You are more than welcome to start the process and reach out to us.
While both results in bringing about a positive life change, they are both different in their approaches. Therapy is more to deal with feelings and perceptions and exploration of past issues and answers the question - 'why'? Life Coaching, on the other hand, is complementary to Therapy and tends to answer the question - 'how'? Life Coaching tends to be a more directive approach where the coach helps the client define and achieve goals, develop a plan and structure for creating the desired results in their life, and holds the client to a high level of accountability to their goals.
